THIS BLOG is to record my attempts to get back in shape -- and to reflect on what I learned from my training last year. I'm making it public just for those who want to know how one octagenarian grapples with aging.
I BEGAN IT LAST YEAR to keep track of my training for an 80-mile ride on my 80th birthday, September 28. That ride behind me, I stopped riding. By March, I was thoroughly out of shape. Will I regain the vitality I had last September. Come along and see!

I took it real easy, hoping to avoid a nap. It limbered up my knees real good, and I felt very little demand on my muscles. Now, just home, I do think I need to stretch a little.
