THIS BLOG is to record my attempts to get back in shape -- and to reflect on what I learned from my training last year. I'm making it public just for those who want to know how one octagenarian grapples with aging.
I BEGAN IT LAST YEAR to keep track of my training for an 80-mile ride on my 80th birthday, September 28. That ride behind me, I stopped riding. By March, I was thoroughly out of shape. Will I regain the vitality I had last September. Come along and see!

7 hrs sleep, 6.4 mi, 39 min, scoop of whey, nap
Not enough sleep, again, but knees continue to feel better. I had thought about riding further this morning, but decided not to push it. Going for a nap without cool-down or stretching.
